Ma.Strum Spring/Summer 2012 Collection
Adding to their extensive range of designer brands, award winning premium fashion retailer Van Mildert have welcomed another label into their portfolio – with the arrival of Ma.Strum. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Ma.Strum is a collaborative project between American designer Donrad Duncan and the archive of the late Stone Island designer Massimo Osti.
To showcase the range to its full potential, Van Mildert has developed their own lookbook in order to give viewers a visual glimpse of some of the key pieces from the range.
When taking a look through the new collection, it was the selection of bold coloured RB-1 Bomber jackets that immediately caught our eye. Coming in three colour ways of orange, navy and sulphur gold, each jacket is lightweight in construction and compact enough to be folded and packed away into its own pocket. It makes it a superb choice for those of you who love the British music festival scene, or just for when the terribly unpredictable English weather takes a sudden turn.
Other key details include: Nylon zip pullers, a detachable hood, under arm and shoulder vent holes, a two way zip fastening, press stud cuffs, front flap pockets, as well as benefiting from being water proof.
These bomber jackets are a testament to both designers. Donrad Duncan has managed to seek inspiration from Osti’s extensive archive and harnessed his innovative and experimental design traits. By combining these advanced construction techniques with Donrad’s contemporary design style, Ma.Strum have managed to put their own twist on the garments – in order to create a unique range that merges both function and style.
