Initially released back in 1980 as New Balance’s response to the increasing demand for lighter training footwear, the 620 was developed for road and distance running.

The footwear’s popularity quickly grew due to one key factor: it’s lightweight. Weighing in at just 224 grams, it made it the lightest running shoe on the market.

To accompany their innovative new product, came an advertising campaign with the tag line “LIGHTER THAN AIR” – some might say it was a not so subtle dig at Nike (their main competitors at the time) who had not long released their Nike Air Tailwind & Air Leisure models.

With various different colour ways and material options having been incorporated within the design over the last 32 years, this new and exclusive size? UK collection utilises suede and nylon mesh construction and comes in three different colour options.

Available in vibrant hues of green, blue and orange these sleek and minimal trainers come complete with a spare set of tonal coloured laces.
