O’Keeffe Double Monk-Strap Brogues

New in this week at Mr.Porter are the latest footwear releases from Maud O’Keeffe. O’Keeffe footwear collections are not trend-led, but focus more on the longevity of the design and construction.

These double monk straps brogues are available in two colour ways (taupe and grey) and have been hand crafted in Italy – resulting in an extremely limited production run.

Although the grey washed leather colour way gives this style a gorgeous aged vintage finish, it’s the taupe tone that caught our eye here in the FashionBeans office.

Each pair of O’Keeffe shoes come with the label’s motto: ‘to the brave and the faithful, nothing is difficult’, embossed inside the tongues.

In our eyes this footwear style has so much going for it we don’t know where to start. Even though the company’s primary focus is not on fleeting trends, it still benefits from incorporating two of the key footwear styles right now: the double monk strap and brogue detailing – genius!

Even the wooden style sole that the shoes are housed upon is stunning – including its own unique shades, tones and patterns. With attention to detail like this it’s hard to know what to focus your attention on first.

Similar to the grey colour way, these leather double monk strap brogues also benefit from a vintage style washed finish. The end result is a perfectly aged taupe tone that will be ideal to pair with lighter coloured chinos during the spring/summer season.
