Samuelsohn, a steadfast fixture of the Canadian men’s formal market, is launching a premium Black Label line to coincide with its 90th anniversary.
The SS13 collection will incorporate tailoring, shirts and accessories with all garments cut from the finest quality fabrics and sporting handcrafted finishes.
The company’s design director Arnold Brant Silverstone says: “The 1923 Black Label collection adds a new dimension to the Samuelsohn brand, (focusing) solely on using the very best fabrications and tailoring that sets a new standard in luxury menswear”.
Evidence of the label’s commitment to an unrivalled attention-to-detail can be found in the form of natural horn buttons, pure-silk linings and hand-turned collars.
The company’s origins date back to 1923 when ambitious tailor, Lesser Samuelsohn relocated to Canada from New York and founded his dynamic business enterprise.
Focused on creating beautifully-crafted menswear to the highest specifications, Samuelsohn’s brand flourished and has grown into an internationally-acclaimed label with concessions in some of the most prestigious U.S. department stores, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom.
As well as RTW pieces, the 1923 line will also incorporate a made-to-measure service, offering a fine range of premium Italian and English-milled cloths, including fabrics from the Lora Piana Zenith collection, ultra-soft baby alpaca and worsted spun silks.
Made in Montreal using the finest tailoring expertise, the 1923 line aims to bring traditional tailoring back to the forefront of the modern man’s wardrobe, with each piece a timeless master class in sartorial standards.
Samuelsohn’s 1923 Black Label RTW suiting ranges from $1995-$2495. Made to measure suiting ranges from $1995-$6995.
