Topman Latest Trend – Africlash
Finally some patterns with real colour! We have had Aztec prints, we have had safari prints, but until now it’s all been relatively dull and understated – don’t you think?
Due to pastel colours dominating for several months, Topman’s new Africlash trend is a breath of fresh air to the high street clothing rails. A green hoody with a printed hood, matched up with a multi-colour print t-shirt – that’s what I am talking about. That’s what I have been waiting for.
Topman’s new African tribe prints can also be used to great effect when combining pieces with classic neutralising colours, such as black and white.
Let’s take a look at some of the key pieces they have to offer. My favourite is actually the aforementioned multi-colour print t-shirt (£20), because it’s bright, it’s fun and it looks like the backdrop of a Rugrats scene.
You can match that with lighter toned shorts for a true summer look. The neutral canvas cotton shorts and mustard cropped shorts (both £30) would work well here.
There are two short pattern sleeve shirts worth paying attention to. Both lively and bursting with blues and orange shades, these are the perfect solution for smart casual occasions.
When things hot up a bit, you could always try a simple vest which comes with a subtle stand-out pocket print. This look can be enhanced with a straw weave hat, some retro sunglasses and your favourite wristband or beads.
This is another great collection aimed at adding some vibrancy to the festival crowds. So get out there, and be colourful.
