Bright and bold Aztec patterns have emerged recently (coincidence they believed the world would end in 2012?) and it’s guaranteed that you’ll see the design on someone sauntering down the high street in the coming months. The trend first came to my attention on our female friends in the form of knitted leggings but since then it has run full pelt and vaulted over the gender barrier to work its way on to our manly attire.
The simple shapes and mix of colours makes a nice change from the usual patterns recycled so often by brands. Consider shelving the tartan for the time being and rock something new and unconventional.
These tees from the funkiest retail chain in town, Urban Outfitters, are some of the best out there. If you’re feeling the full print then think about toning it down with a shirt over the top; that denim shirt you own will look great with this jumping out from underneath. Or if you would prefer a slightly more chilled out option, the pocket tees add some great detail to an otherwise simple and essential item, meaning they can be paired with tailored shorts this summer for an effortlessly on trend look.
The tops are very good quality and I’m hoping to see some more of what Worland have to offer in the near future. A word of caution, keep the jeans and the footwear dark and plain – there’s enough going on here so try not to overdo it.
Aztec is in, so if the world’s going to end, you might as well be on trend.
Looking good isn’t important, it’s everything.
