The FashionBean’s Friday feature last week was all about the return of the print. This sparked a little controversy as to what prints are acceptable and in what form – the general consensus being not a lot.

One ray of light to come from the debate was that African and Aztec prints are not only going to be in fashion this spring/summer; it seems people actually like them! So without further ado, I will introduce the latest shoe release from clothing brand You Must Create – which are available at Oki-ni now.

Last summer saw a popular introduction of the Navajo print to British fashion. With bursts of colour, patterns and shapes by trade, it is definitely one of the more eye catching prints on the market. There are three variations of the shoe available to buy on Oki-ni, all retailing at £75.

Bold prints and patterns often send even the most fashion forward among us running in the opposite direction. Some key rules to remember are; don’t double up on different patterns; wear a contrasting colour to the main colour in the pattern; and try and wear a pattern as a statement piece. Remember, if you like the Aztec print that’s great – we just don’t need to see it on your hat, gloves, scarf and bag as well as your jumper.
