Cult leather label Jitrois has achieved a strong yet minimal look with its SS14 collection. The luxury brand makes use of the stretch leather that designer and founder Jean Claude Jitrois is credited with inventing. Working in a palette of black, white and navy, clean lines and multi-dimensional looks appear throughout with an emphasis laying on shape and cut. Stand-out items from the independent label include a grey zip-up sweater with waterfall lapels along with a black leather t-shirt. A double-layered denim jacket with contrast sleeves is equally eye-catching. Credits for the collection’s lookbook include photographer Matthew Paul Thomas and stylist Vanessa Metz, who worked alongside model Romain Tachereau to showcase the range of modern staples. Describing his vision, Jitrois said: “The dynamism and exaggerated aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s provide the key inspiration for this collection.” The label is currently available for purchase in the brand’s standalone store on Sloane Street, London as well as online at Jitrois.com.
