SLVDR Field and Street Fall/Holiday 2013 Collection
Southern Californian clothing brand SLVDR operates on a very simple premise: attainable luxury for all. Drawing from the rugged yet relaxed nature of the local lifestyle and urban fashions from designer Rob Meyers’ various travels, SLVDR have successfully fused SoCal cool with timeless global design to create a culturally resilient and stylish range of clothing that reflects their ethos in every stitch.
The freshly released lookbook, ‘Field & Street’, maintains the spirit of the brand by showcasing utilitarian outdoors wear alongside laid back streetwear, perfectly capturing the seemingly incongruous mix of easygoing-ness and austerity that West Coast fashion does so well.
Featuring quilted jackets, polos and chambray shirts, all in muted hues highly suggestive of nature, the lookbook takes us on an exploration of the great Californian outdoors, highlighting both the clothing and the attitude behind it.
Standout pieces include the range of hoodies, which boast traditional slim drawstrings and contrasting patches to the breast/upper arm in bold prints or complementary colouring. A similar effect is found on other knitwear items in the collection, including crew neck jumpers with microdot patterning and logo-embroidered patches on the left breasts, which conceal zippered pockets.
Bold printing seems to be a recurring theme in this collection, with many of the woven shirts featuring separated sections each with their own distinct pattern. Prints employed include a subtle, wide-spaced camouflage and an eye-catching trophy print.
With their understated yet distinctive designs and their fine attention to detailing, SLVDR have created a collection choc-full of casual staples appropriate to virtually every situation.
