SS13 Quick Strike Collection
The Quiet Life is a fashion project founded in 1997 by skate-obsessed photographer/art director Andy Mueller of Girl Skateboards. Born out of OhioGirl, a small film studio also run by Mueller, The Quiet Life seeks to combine street and skate culture with a crisp, honed aesthetic that can only come from the eye of a dedicated shutterbug.
Despite their director being such a keen photographer himself, The Quiet Life have drafted California native Josh Terris to shoot the lookbook for the brand’s new summer collection, codenamed ‘Quick Strike’.
Photographed on genuine film in Terris’ hometown of Saugus, the lookbook reveals seemingly candid shots of the Quiet Life crew and their models running, playing and mugging for the camera. Dressed in a selection of most excellent snap backs, five-panel caps, printed shirts and bold chest-pocketed tees, the aesthetic perfectly captures the playful, easygoing nature of the West Coast whilst announcing the brand as bang on trend for SS13.
Sun-soaked, sportive and insurmountably stylish, the Quiet Life Quick Strike lookbook reveals this brand to be one that is completely comfortable in its laid-back philosophy – a philosophy exemplified by the on-again-off-again nature of the company’s output during the past sixteen years. Fingers will need to be tightly crossed that this is the collection that launches them to the forefront of casual youth fashion and convinces them to stay there.
Pieces from the new range are available now on The Quiet Life’s online store and are set to be made purchasable from selected retailers sometime in the coming weeks.
