Menswear Line Revamped With Debut Pre-Season Collection
The menswear arm of French Connection has launched its first ever pre-season collection as part of an ongoing revamp.
Bosses at the firm tapped up professional footballer Adam Lallana to front the line, ahead of the 26-year-old’s recent appointment as England midfielder in the upcoming Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
Fabrics in the new range have been manufactured in Italian mills and include tweeds, cashmeres, meltons and lambswools.
Colours make use of an autumnal palette of camel, charcoal, burgundy and navy, with bold accents of yellow and cobalt blue.
Pieces include a cable knit turtleneck in a deep navy, graphic fairisle knit, and short charcoal duffle coat with contrasting orange toggle fastenings.
A spokesperson described the Southampton FC player as “one of the country’s most exciting footballing talents.”
“Combined with his dedication, drive and commitment to his profession and his duties as a father, French Connection feels [Lallana] is the perfect brand fit and a key ambassador for the launch,” they added.
The brand also confirmed to FashionBeans plans to continue with pre-season collections as part of its strategy moving forward.
French Connection has released a short film going behind the scenes of Lallana’s campaign shoot.
Price points for the line, which is available now from French Connection stores and online at frenchconnection.com, fall between £30 for T-shirts and £210 for outerwear.
