World Cup Collection Captures Spirit of Brazil
Lacoste is the latest brand to reveal a collection to mark the start of the World Cup. It follows announcements from the likes of Puma, Ice-Watch and Pepsi, who have all made a release in support of the tournament.
The 2014 Rio collection aims to capture the “colour and energy” of Brazil. The 18-piece range is made up of seven polo shirts, four T-shirts, three caps, a pair of shorts, a jacket, bag, and watch.
Yellow, green and blue feature heavily throughout, with contrasting collars and trims, as well as coloured panels.
The French brand’s crocodile motif has also been given a makeover, carrying the host country’s flag on its side.
Fans of the brand, which celebrated its 80th anniversary last year, will recognise the Goa watch from the Winter Olympics collection earlier in 2014.
Lacoste is known for creating collections to coincide with sporting events, having recently observed the launch of the French Open with a clothing and accessories tribute to Roland-Garros.
The Rio collection is available online now and throughout June, prices start from £30 for accessories £45 to T-shirts and £50 for polo shirts. The highest priced item is the Rio edition zipped jacket at £100.
