The Idle Man Presents: Winter 2014 Lookbook
Straight off the back of their autumn 2014 edition, The Idle Man has returned with another impressive lookbook that showcases their extensive winter collection while also highlighting their progression and ever-expanding brand portfolio.
Shot on location at Arnold Circus in the heart of Shoreditch, East London, it is set against a backdrop of grade II listed redbrick architecture – a key aspect of the area often overlooked amid its growing popularity.
In an attempt to reflect this traditional pocket within the continually modernising hub of Shoreditch, The Idle Man has consciously styled timeless overcoats and knitwear pieces alongside modern technical outerwear for a classic meets contemporary feel.
Notable new additions to The Idle Man’s brand roster include denim specialists Nudie Jeans, upcoming street wear label RVLT, and Selected Homme, all of which feature prominently throughout the lookbook, alongside long standing brands like Vans, Levi’s, Cheap Monday and Native Youth.
Focus: Winter Outerwear
The retailer’s new lookbook puts great emphasis on the most essential cold-weather garment a man can own: the winter coat. Your first line of defence against the elements and the piece that others notice first, it’s imperative you get your choice of coat right.
Showcasing a range of silhouettes, from sharp herringbone overcoats for the morning commute to down-filled padded jackets and versatile single-breasted rain macs for the weekend, there’s a design for every type of dresser and personal style:
Focus: Cropped Jackets
Not every day requires a thick, protective coat. Cropped outerwear silhouettes are ideal for the transition from autumn to winter, providing warmth and protection against biting winds while allowing you to layer creatively.
The Idle Man is stocking a wealth of cropped jackets for AW14, including rugged denim styles, classic MA1 flight designs and luxe heavyweight versions in wool-blends. Versatile and on-trend, throw yours over all of your current off-duty ensembles for an instant style update:
Knitwear plays an important part within any autumn/winter collection, and The Idle Man yet again delivers.
Smart on-trend roll necks and classic crew necks sit next to playful Fair Isle knits and heavily textured jumpers, which will help add depth and character to any cold-weather look:
