Adidas has revealed the results of its latest collaboration with Belgian designer Raf Simons, carrying over some of its key footwear styles for spring/summer 2016. The Christian Dior creative director has put his signature minimalist mark on a range of adidas’ classic training styles for next year, including the Stan Smith, Ozweego 2 and Response Trail, alongside a brand new style: the Stan Smith Strap. Hailing Simons’ love for the shoe as an “obsession”, adidas’ Stan Smith comes in classic white, copper, silver, yellow, pink and blue for SS16, with the designer’s signature ‘R’ punched into the side of each shoe. The iconic silhouette also sees itself adapted to create the new Stan Smith Strap, with a three-stripe strap system said to bring “a new twist of refinement to the original comfort Velcro straps from the 1980s”. Meanwhile, the Ozweega 2 has a distinctly futuristic feel, coming in khaki, deep green and black colourways, and is joined by the Response Trail in white/green and red/blue, finished with two TPU heel spoilers for an equally high-tech look. The full adidas x Raf Simons spring/summer 2016 collection will launch in February 2016 at select stockists, including adidasx.com, Dover Street Market, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, with prices set to range from £198 to £265 at the current exchange rate.
