We’ll take a punt and say that you don’t wear most of your trainers for training (although we genuinely once saw a guy squatting in Yeezy Boost 750s, which was a baller, if impractical, move).

That whole trainers with a suit thing arose because sports shoes are built comfy in a way that – unless you’re stumping up for bespoke John Lobbs – formal shoes just aren’t. So praise be to adidas for finally making it possible to be both sartorially on-point and keep your soles swaddled.

The Three Stripes has taken the new NMD silhouette, with its super-soft Boost sole and distinctive EVA inserts, then switched out the Primeknit upper for a suede chukka boot, in black and a rather punchier red.

The chukka’s two-eyelet lacing remains too, smartening up your trainers even if means you’re not going to have quite as much support should you decide to take them out for a 10k.
