Oliver Sweeney x Proudlock Collaboration
Celebrated British shoe makers Oliver Sweeney have collaborated with Made in Chelsea star and fashion designer Oliver Proudlock to produce a capsule collection of hi-tops and chukka boots. Known for his distinct style, this is Proudlock’s first collaboration with a major brand and also his first venture into footwear design. FashionBeans has previously featured his Serge DeNimes mainline collection on site, which focuses on tees, sweatshirts and headwear. A fan of Oliver Sweeney, the collaboration began with a meeting between Proudlock and Sweeney’s Cobbler-in-Chief, where they discussed the shoe design process. This meeting soon turned into a discussion about more contemporary silhouettes and trainer designs, resulting in the collection that is now available to buy. Two classic silhouettes have been given a contemporary makeover: the chukka boot and hi-top. With a large social media presence, the young designer took to Twitter to get his fans to submit potential names for the styles – with ‘Nox Pardus’ and ‘Tijuaca’ being selected. The ‘Tijuaca’ chukka boot features a white sole and suede lace-up body. Available in two colour options, you can pick from on trend cobalt blue, complete with a black back panel, or an all-black version featuring a leopard print back panel. The hi-top ‘Nox Pardus’ is again available in two colour combinations. The all over leopard print version features a black back panel and will definitely make a statement this season. However, the collection stand out has to be the black leather version with leopard print back panel. This versatile shoe can be worn casually with almost anything in your wardrobe or teamed with more refined pieces in order to give your outfit an urban, street style twist. Though limited in selection the collaboration is a superb fusion of Oliver Sweeney’s high quality craftsmanship with Proudlock’s distinct personal style.
