London Collections: Men Ambassador Creates Six-Piece Range
Tinie Tempah has been tapped to create a collaborative eyewear line with Prism, just months after the brand moved into its first London store.
The Pass Out chart topper has had a close relationship with founder and creative director, Anna Laub, since 2010, resulting in a call for the six-piece range.
The collection features a single oversized cat-eye shape in metal and acetate.
Opticals and sunglasses in metal are matte and have been produced in gold, rose gold, and gunmetal, while acetate versions make use of matte black, clear, navy, and camouflage styles.
A year after the firm’s launch in 2009, the rapper was seen sporting Prism designs at several public appearances, including the Rio model at the MOBO Awards.
Tempah, whose real name is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, served as a consultant on the new collection, working with Prism through his Disturbing London label.
According to sources involved in the project, Tempah wanted to design a line of eyewear that would reflect of his own personal style.
The 25-year-old’s fashion choices regularly land him on GQ’s best dressed list and has also made him an official menswear ambassador for London Collections: Men.
Prism, launched in 2009, aims to merge modern designs with traditional craftsmanship, with all frames handmade in a family run factory in the Treviso region of Italy.
Frames in the Tinie Tempah range start at £262 and will be available from June online, from the Brown Focus store and Prism’s London flagship.
