Despite only being 34 years old, it feels like model, designer and writer Alexa Chung has been around for aeons. We loved her when she came onto the scene, presenting morning TV show Popworld with awkward brilliance, and we still love her now she’s out there promoting her eponymous fashion brand inspired by Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury Group.

Emily Ratajkowski

Think of instant noodles and you might immediately be taken back to punishing nights finishing college work in the library, holding up your eyelids with matchsticks and slurping instant coffee through a straw. But from now on we’ll think of supermodel, and one of the hottest women in the world, Emily Ratajkowski. Thanks, Em.

Charlize Theron

Hollywood actresses were once told to ‘go ugly’ with their roles if they wanted to win an Oscar. But that was 15 years ago, and hopefully the rules have changed. Otherwise, Charlize Theron isn’t going to win a thing looking as good as she did at the San Francisco International Film Festival.

Lily James

A modern-day princess (she did play Cinderella after all), Lily James has found her Prince Charming in the form of ex-Doctor Who star Matt Smith, who also plays Prince Phillip in The Crown. While this royal conundrum is starting to make our head hurt, there is no doubt James is a gal worth spending time with past midnight. Just watch she doesn’t lose a shoe.

Karlie Kloss

We don’t know what Tay Tay is playing at. If reports are to be believed the ‘Shake It Out’ singer’s BFF relations with supermodel Karlie Kloss have thawed of late. This cold war is a great shame, as Kloss seems to be thoroughly charming, exuding loveliness wherever she goes. It’s alright Karlie, we’ll be your friend.

Gabrielle Union

Listed as an actress, author and activist, Gabrielle Union is the definition of a modern all-rounder celebrity. The acting side is going pretty well for the star of Bad Boys TV spin-off L.A.’s Finest, but rather more intriguingly Union launched her own wine in 2014, a Chardonnay grown in California’s Napa Valley called Vanilla Puddin’. Well, that’s the choice of night-cap sorted.

Maya Jama

Having stormed into our hearts along with BF grime megastar Stormzy, Maya Jama is quickly becoming something of a national treasure. The television and radio presenter is a lively but grounded presence on our screens and through our airwaves, and recently got a new role at BBC Radio 1. Odd – hers is not what you’d normally call a face for radio.

Amal Clooney

For those who think Amal Clooney only entered public consciousness because of her husband (coffee machine salesman George Clooney), allow us to set the record straight. The Lebanese-born British barrister counts Wikileaks founder and amateur Draco Malfoy impersonator Julian Assange among her clients, and has been involved in multiple international human rights cases. George, you done good.

Inbar Lavi

While that coat might be a tad too football commentator for our liking, we know who’d we’d rather have cuddled up inside (clue: it’s not John Motson). Inbar Levi is an Israeli actress currently starring in the revival of Prison Break, and when she’s not breaking out of cell blocks, she’s busy breaking hearts with her destructive good looks.

Joan Smalls

Another day, another supermodel to get distracted by on social media. This time it’s former Victoria Secret’s angel and guest judge on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Joan Smalls. Hailing from Puerto Rico, she moved to New York straight after graduating from university where her west side story began, only with less finger clicking down alleyways and more sashaying down catwalks.
