In celebration of the coveted brand’s 20 years of iconic designs, Christian Louboutin has fittingly opened a pop-up store inside one of London’s most iconic shopping destinations; Selfridges.
The embodiment of shoe paradise, the pop-up store features handbags, clutches and most importantly, men’s shoes (the studded Roller flats and spiked toecap No Limit high tops being a personal favourite). This is the first time men’s shoes have been available outside of Louboutin’s own flagship London store. From the label’s iconic hero designs to the latest SS12 collection; the collection is limited to 20 re-issued, unforgettable designs from the creator of the famous red-sole.
Christian Louboutin’s Roller flats are the more subdued cousins to the label’s Rollerboy flats. Crafted from soft black suede, these loafers are accented with rounded studs for a not-so-classic, offbeat take on formal style.
Now, to say these No Limit high tops are slightly to the left of my usual style is somewhat of an understatement. But, I love them. They are so bold, brash and unsympathetically daring.
Made from mixed fabrics with spike stud and jewel accents, these high tops push the boundaries of contemporary fashion design – showcasing Louboutin’s unique ability to work outside the box to create new classics for the modern wearer.
To add an extra inch to this already stunning event, the legendary designer himself completed the redesign of Selfridges’ Concept store in readiness for the showcase.
The pop-up store is in Selfridges until April 1st 2012.
